Bring Chicago Home is a grassroots movement of Chicagoans committed to creating a dedicated revenue stream to combat homelessness in Chicago.
Bring Chicago Home means helping people like...
Patricia, who lost her home after she lost her husband. “There’s a lot of different circumstances that cause you to be [homeless].”
Maxica, who lost her job and home while battling cancer. “To have that key and open up that door… for my children…it was the greatest joy.”
Charles, who co-founded Chicago Coalition for the Homeless’ Speakers Bureau. “In a just society, people and policies that work toward upward mobility…are the right thing to do.”
More than 68,000 people experience homelessness in Chicago.
Homelessness is living on the street. It’s living in a shelter or spending your nights on someone else’s couch. It’s not having an address to call your own, and not having the means to obtain one.
It exists in every corner of the city, yet Chicago’s budget to address homelessness is only 3% of New York City’s, and 7% of Los Angeles’s. We can and must do more.
